again in the living room, across time zones, as we carry forward the
conversation and spirit of their November 2019 reading in The James
Gallery that celebrated their new books A
Jazz Funeral for Uncle Tom (winner of a 2020 California Book Award) and All That Beauty (read a review of Fred's book by Harmony
in the new issue of the Poetry Project).

Fred Moten teaches black studies, critical theory and
poetics in the Department of Performance Studies at New York University.
His latest book, written with Stefano Harney, is All Incomplete (Minor Compositions/Autonomedia, 2020).
Harmony Holiday is a writer, dancer, archivist, and the author of 5 collections of poetry including the forthcoming Maafa (2020). She also curates an archive of griot poetics and a related performance series at LA’s MOCA. She has received the Motherwell Prize from Fence Books, a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, a NYFA fellowship, a Schomburg Fellowship, and a research fellowship from Harvad’s Woodberry Poetry Room. She’s currently working on a film commissioned for LA’s 2020 biennial, and a collection of essays entitled Love is War for Miles in addition to other writing, film, and curatorial projects.
