About the event
Join Amy Starecheski, 2013-2014 Public Humanities Fellow in the History Thesis Room 5114.01, as she talks about her research and the fellowship experience. Amy is finishing a PhD in Cultural Anthropology at the Graduate Center this year: her research is with former squatters on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, focusing on their experiences of property and history as their buildings are legalized. As part of her fellowship, Amy is developing a public oral history archive of the interviews she conducted for her dissertation, which she hopes to turn into an audio walking tour of the Lower East Side squats.
