Manuel Arce Riocabo was born in Cuba in 1947 and has lived in New York City since the 1960s. In 1978, together with fellow Cuban-American Leon Ichaso, he founded Max Mambru Films and acquired the rights to an off-off Broadway play by Ivan Acosta, El Super. Together with Ichaso, they adapted the play to the screen and produced the award winning El Super, an official U.S. entry at the Venice Film Festival (1979) and MOMA's New Directors series. He has worked as line producer and writer in an array of other film and TV projects, including a series of short films for NBC's SNL and Killshot, a teleplay for NBC's Miami Vice. He has conceptualized and produced music videos for artists such as Marc Anthony, Ruben Blades Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz and Sa-Fire.
