Keith Wilson is a British artist with a longstanding interest in the cultural status of sculpture and the extent to which it can play a part in social transformation. His practice has been balanced between curatorial ventures, such as his recent co-curated project, Modern British Sculpture, at the Royal Academy London in 2011; gallery exhibitions, such as Calendar at the MAC Belfast in 2016; and public works, including Park Hill Plinths, a work commissioned for the Park Hill estate in Sheffield that opened in October 2017. He completed a major commission, Steles, for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, which remains a key part of the new Queen Elizabeth Park. Educated at Oxford University (Ruskin School, BFA) and University College London (Slade School, MFA), Keith has since taught at most of London's major art schools and has held senior research positions at both the University of Westminster and Sheffield Hallam University, where he retains a research affiliation as Professor of Sculpture. He currently serves as Director of the Center for the Humanities at the Graduate Center, CUNY, where he initiated the Object Library in fall 2018.
