Hilton Als is a staff writer for The New Yorker Magazine. He became the magazine's drama critic in 2013. He is the author of two books--The Women, published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux in 1996, and White Girls, published by McSweeney's in 2013. His work also appears in the New York Review of Books.
