Farha Ghannam is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Swarthmore College and the author of Remaking the Modern: Space, Relocation, and the Politics of Identity in a Global Cairo (The University of California Press, 2002). She co-edited, with Hania Sholkamy, Health and Identity in Egypt (The American University in Cairo Press, 2004).
