Emily Hotez

Emily Hotez recently earned her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the CUNY Graduate Center. She is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the psychology department at Hunter College, where she teaches psychology, child development, and research methods classes. In this role, Emily prioritizes student-directed work, collaboration, and critical thinking. As an adjunct at CUNY, she has had the opportunity to co-lead and evaluate a participatory summer transition program for neurodiverse students; conduct service-learning activities in the classroom; and collaborate with her peers on pedagogical book chapters and manuals for engaging diverse students in higher education. Her current initiative, Enhancing CUNY-Wide Capacity to Promote the Success of Student-Parents seeks to engage CUNY students with children in developing institutional and pedagogical policies and practices aimed at better serving the needs of student-parents. Emily received her B.A. in psychology from the George Washington University.
