Crystal Des-Ogugua is an arts educator whose work is rooted in the intersections between youth advocacy, archival curation, and creative community building within Black and Brown communities. As a program coordinator and facilitator with The Sadie Nash Leadership Project, her work utilizes both archival and current narratives as a means of centering the voices and experiences of Black women. In collaboration with the young people she serves, her classroom/facilitation spaces strive to capture how intergenerational storytelling/sharing can be used to both disrupt legacies of silencing through patriarchy, and also facilitate alternative, collaborative, and creative spaces where intergenerational communities can be built around shared identities, experiences, and histories.
