Alessandra Ciucci is Lecturer in Music at Northeastern University. Her research is focused on the Middle East, and she has written on the musico-poetic practices of women, gender studies, and anthropology of religion in the region. She has received fellowships from the Fulbright Association, the American Institute for Maghreb Studies, and the Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women. From 2008-2010 she was a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer in the Music Department at Columbia University.
