About the collection

This collection of events, discussions, and film screenings looks to examine the forces that are changing our neighborhoods and reshaping our cities. How has capitalism, gentrification, globalization, and downturns in the economy shaped the quality of good housing in our cities? What effect do poverty and poor housing conditions have on other aspects of our lives?

The events in this collection force us to consider how we document neighborhood change; how we might use urban design, zoning policies, and development projects to better address the needs of diverse groups; and how we might think about and plan for future challenges. In doing so, this collection presents an opportunity to think through issues facing cities on local, national, and international scales.
