About the collection
Ho do changing definitions of performance, “liveness,” and active spectatorship complicate archival practice? Which histories are preserved, which are changing, and which are lost? How might public investment in these questions change the way they are addressed? Bringing together film and media scholars, artists, filmmakers, curators, archivists, activists, and documentarians to explore creative approaches to moving image history, this research group explores archival work in new and old technologies. Mediating the Archive is part of the Mellon Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research.
