How did Hollywood animation technology impact not only popular culture but also intellectual thought of figures like Sergei Eisenstein and Theodor Adorno in exile in California in the 1930s and 1940s? Join Esther Leslie, author of Hollywood Flatlands: Animation, Critical Theory, and the Avant-garde for a conversation with Zoe Beloff and Amy Herzog in tandem with Beloff’s exhibition “A World Redrawn: Eisenstein and Brecht in Hollywood” on view in the James Gallery.
