Tuzyline Allan teaches African American and other literatures at Baruch College. She is the author of the award-winning book Womanist and Feminist Aesthetics: A Comparative Review and co-editor of Twelve Best Books by African Women and Masculinities in African Literary and Cultural Contexts. She is also co-series editor of the multi-volume, Feminist Press publication Women Writing Africa, anthologies of a broad range of women’s writings on the continent. Her critical essays include readings of works by Virginia Woolf, Alice Walker, Nella Larsen, Buchi Emecheta, Ama Ata Aidoo, and Bessie Head.
