Susan Stratton is a pioneering media professional whose innovative work spans traditional media (radio, film, television and video) to interactive games and online channels and networks domestically and internationally. Susan received her BA in English Literature from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and continued her graduate studies there and abroad where she worked in London for Time Magazine, the BBC and CBS’s 60 Minutes. She researched and developed movies for major entertainers and directors including the Academy Award winning Sophie’s Choice. As a development executive for Lorimar, for decades the world’s largest television company, she oversaw award winning TV shows. She has been a long time member of the DGA where she worked in commercials, television and movies. Susan enjoyed teaching, guest lecturing and serving as a judge at NYU’s Film School, and is currently teaching at BMCC in the department of Media Arts and Technology. Her areas of scholarly interest and research remain creating equal access to content and future media. In fall 2019, Susan will be a Fulbright Specialist at FAMU, the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
