Stanley Aronowitz is a Distinguished Professor at the CUNY Graduate Center and the Director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Technology and Work. He is the author of several books, including False Promises: The Shaping of American Working Class Consciousness, Left Turn: Forging a New Political Future, Against Schooling: For an Education That Matters, and most recently Taking It Big: C. Wright Mills and the Making of Political Intellectuals. In 2012, Professor Aronowitz received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Stony Brook University’s Center for Study of Working Life.
