Smita Narula is associate professor of Clinical Law, New York University School of Law. Professor Narula's research interests include business and human rights, caste discrimination, economic and social rights, international financial institutions and human rights, international human rights law, law and human rights in south asia, national security and human rights, rights-based approaches to development. She is also the faculty director of the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice and was senior researcher for South Asia at Human Rights Watch. She is the author of Broken People: Caste Violence Against India's "Untouchables" (1999), and contributes regularly to various law journals.
