Shareah Taleghani is an assistant professor and director of Middle East studies at Queens College. Her research focuses on political resistance and cultural production in the Middle East. She is currently working on a book manuscript about prison literature and human rights in Syria. She has translated poetry by Faraj Bayraqdar, Badr Shakir as-Sayyab, and Nizar Qabbani.
