Rhea Newman joined Wellcome Trust in October 2020 as a Policy and Advocacy Adviser for the Mental Health Priority Area. Her work is currently focused on supporting a commission looking at the evidence base behind interventions to support workplace mental health and on working to influence policymakers to embed an understanding of what science can contribute to the mental health policy agenda. Prior to joining Wellcome, she worked in a number of policy and campaigning roles for UK charities, working on issues related to mental health, welfare and housing.
