Noortje Marres is Lecturer in Sociology and co-director of the Centre for the Study of Invention and Social Process (CSISP) at Goldsmiths, University of London. She was trained in the philosophy and sociology of science and technology at the University of Amsterdam, and received her PhD from that same university for a thesis about issue-centred theories of democracy in the technological society. Noortje is also a founding member of govcom.org, the foundation that developed Issue Crawler, an online platform for network analysis. She has just finished her book Engaging Devices: Participation after the Object Turn (Palgrave, forthcoming).
