Nitin Ahuja is a fellow in gastroenterology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. His clinical interests include motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, and his research interests include the history, literature, and culture of medicine. Specific areas of prior focus have included discredited theories of intestinal autointoxication, online clinical role-play videos, and the formal convergence of early twentieth century hospitals and factories. His writing has appeared in Medical Humanities, Perspectives in Biology and Medicine, Aeon, Nautilus, and The New Inquiry, among others.
