Nicolas Delon is Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies and Animal Studies at New York University. Nicolas' main research area is animal ethics and moral status, but he has interests in ethics overall (normative, meta, and practical), moral psychology, experimental philosophy, legal and political philosophy, and ecology. Nicolas visited Columbia University in 2009-10. He has presented many papers at conferences, workshops, and seminars, in the US, the UK, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, and France. He published articles and book chapters on animal ethics, X-phi, and disability, and his paper, “Moral status, intrinsic value, and extrinsic properties”, is forthcoming in the Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society. Before joining NYU, Nicolas taught philosophy at Aix-Marseille University in 2013-14 as a temporary lecturer and at Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens as a T.A. from 2010 to 2013. He was also a Teaching Fellow in the French Department at Columbia University in 2009-2010.
