The Media Ecology Project, a digital resource at Dartmouth College directed by Prof. Mark Williams, provides online access to primary moving image research materials and engages dynamic new forms of scholarly production and online publishing. Working to connect archives of historical media to researchers in Film and Media Studies and related fields and disciplines, extending into the undergraduate classroom, MEP enables new research capacities toward the critical understanding of historical media and facilitates a dynamic context of research that develops in relation to its use over time by a wide range of users. MEP also supports and advocates for the essential work of media archives and contributes back to the archival and research communities through the fluid contribution of metadata.
