Luka Lucić is an Assistant Professor of Immigration & Diaspora Studies at Pratt Institute and Associate Director of the Global South Center. His research employs narrative inquiry to explore the effects of radical change - such as migration, war, and urban destruction, on socio-cognitive development of young people. Luka’s article Changing Landscapes, Changing Narratives (Pedagogy, Culture & Society, 2016) describes the effects of new media technologies on the development of bicultural and transnational orientations among young migrants. His recent article Turkey, The Crisis of Geographical Imagination (Metropolitics, 2016) considers the situation of Syrian refugees in Turkey to show various ways in which real and imagined spaces become central points of contestation as Turkey’s government attempts to repress cultural, ethnic, and ideological diversity.
