Karla Nielsen works on the interrelatedness of material format and literary form as both a literary critic and librarian. She has a doctorate in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She works as the Curator of Literature in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University where she is affiliated faculty member in the Department of English and Comparative Literature.
