Justin Beauchamp (they/any) is thrilled to be joining the NYC Climate Justice Hub / Center for the Humanities team! They are currently a PhD student in the Sociology program at the GC, and adjunct lecturer at the City College of New York (CCNY). Justin has spent the last four years as the program assistant for the PublicsLab, a GC initiative that was focused on expanding public scholarship and transforming doctoral education for the good of the public, which is why they are particularly excited to continue similar work as the Public Scholarship Finance Coordinator for this project. In addition, they are actively involved in The Adjunct Project as its Coordinator of Organization and Planning, the Sociology Students Association (SSA), and other organizing efforts at the GC. Prior to the GC/CUNY, Justin worked in higher education full-time in student affairs and also as an adjunct at a few different universities.
Justin looks forward to advancing several initiatives that center Indigenous studies and Indigenous students working across CUNY as part of the NYC Climate Justice Hum. Justin is also excited to think about resilience, participatory budgeting and budgetary justice at CUNY.
