Julián Sánchez González is a Fulbright-Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia fellow pursuing a Masters program in Art History at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. He received a double B.A. in History and Political Science, and a double minor in Art History and Government from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. In the fall of 2018, Julián  will continue his studies in the Ph.D program in Art History at Columbia University with Professor Kellie Jones. His academic interests are focused on the relationship between popular, modern, and contemporary art in the Caribbean region. More specifically, his current research project studies the arts of the Colombian archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina in the second half of the 20th century. Before moving to New York City, Julián also worked with the Art Museum of the Americas–Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. and the Museos del Banco de la República de Colombia in Bogotá, where he served as Coordinator of the Education Department.
