Jean Mills is the author of Virginia Woolf, Jane Ellen Harrison, and the Spirit of Modernist Classicism (The Ohio State University Press, 2014) and most recently ‘With every nerve in my body I stand for peace’: Jane Ellen Harrison and the Heresy of War’ in Defenders of the Peace (Palgrave 2016). She has published on Virginia Woolf, Gertrude Stein, modernism, women writers of the 1920’s and 1930’s, and Peace Studies. An Associate Professor of English at John Jay College-CUNY, she divides her time between New York City and Upstate New York.
