Idra Novey is the author of Exit, Civilian, chosen by Patricia Smith for this year's National Poetry Series (University of Georgia Press, 2012), and The Next Country (Alice James Books, 2008). Her most recent translations include the collection Birds for a Demolition, the poetry of Brazilian poet Manoel de Barros, and a retranslation of Clarice Lispector's novel The Passion According to GH, forthcoming in fall 2012.
She's taught in the Bard Prison Initiative, at the University of Chile and currently teaches in the MFA Program at Columbia University.
