Father Solalinde is a Mexican catholic priest and worldwide-recognized human rights activist who has been championing the cause of Central American migrants for three decades. He coordinates the South Pacific Church of Human Mobility (La Pastoral de Movilidad Humana Pacifico del Sur del Episcopado Mexicano) and is the director of Brothers in the Road, an immigrant shelter that provides humanitarian assistance to Central and South American migrants travelling to the US. Called "the Oscar Romero of the migrants", his theology is rooted in seeking justice for the most vulnerable. He has received numerous national and international awards for his indefatigable, courageous work --which has caused him severe death threats, including the prestigious Emilio Krieger medal, and the Pages Llergo award for Democracy and Human Rights.
