Fabiana Lopes is a New York and São Paulo-based Independent Curator and a Ph.D. Candidate in Performance Studies at New York University, where she is a Corrigan Doctoral Fellow. Lopes focuses on the contemporary artistic production from Latin America and is currently researching the production of artists of Afrobrazilian artists. Lopes recently held the positions of Curatorial Assistant at the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros and Simon Watson Arts. Her most current exhibition projects include Lidia Lisboa: em tramas, Galeria Rabieh, São Paulo (2015), Priscila Rezende’s performance Bombril as part of the exhibition Limite Zero, Galeria Rabieh, São Paulo (2014). She has also contributed to exhibitions and curatorial projects such as Made by…Feito por Brasileiros, Cidade Matarazzo, São Paulo (2014), Lygia Clark: The Abandonment of Art, 1948—1988, the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2014), Sensitive Geometry: Brazil 1950s—1980s at Hauser & Wirth, New York (2013).
