Eric Keenaghan is Associate Professor of English at the University at Albany, SUNY. He is the author of Queering Cold War Poetry: Ethics of Vulnerability in Cuba and the United States (Ohio State UP, 2009) and a contributing author to several critical collections, including volumes on Robert Duncan, Ronald Johnson, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. His essays have appeared in Contemporary Literature, modernism/modernity, Journal of Modern Literature, jacket2,Translation Studies, and other venues. He is currently working on a new book project—Life, Love, War: ‘Anarchism’ and Twentieth-Century American Poetry—which explores new ways of speaking about communalist yet individualist poetic politics through an investigation of the archives of Muriel Rukeyser and of two other later modernist poets, Kenneth Patchen and Robert Duncan. A version of one chapter from that project will appear in the special issue of The Journal of Narrative Theory celebrating Muriel Rukeyser’s centenary.
