Emily Eliza Scott is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich), where she is co-editing a volume on contemporary art and land use politics, forthcoming from University of California Press. Scott teaches seminars about the concept of “post-nature,” and the emergent spatialities, temporalities, and representational crises triggered by climate change, among other topics. Her recent writings have appeared in American Art, Art Journal, Third Text, Cultural Geographies, and anthologies such as Ends of the Earth: Land Art to 1974 (Prestel) and Retracing the Expanded Field: Encounters Between Art and Architecture (MIT Press).
She co-founded the Los Angeles Urban Rangers, a group that develops tours and tools for creative explorations of everyday habitats. She earned a PhD in art history from University of California, Los Angeles.
