Ellen Feder is professor of Philosophy at American University in Washington, DC. She is the author of Making Sense of Intersex: Changing Ethical Perspectives in Biomedicine (2014) and Family Bonds: Genealogies of Race and Gender (2007). She co-edited, with Eva Kittay, The Subject of Care: Feminist Perspectives on Dependency(2002). With sociologist Georgiann Davis, she is completing work on a narrative symposium, “Normalizing Intersex” for Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics, which features narratives of individuals born with atypical sex anatomies. She has published articles and online essays in bioethics, including the Hastings Center Report and the Lancet, as well as articles in Hypatia, Philosophy Today, Radical Philosophy Review, and GLQ.
