Elize Mazadiego

Elize Mazadiego is an art historian working on global modern and contem­porary art, with a focus on Latin American art and its transnational contexts. She is an assistant professor in world art history in the Institute for Art History at the University of Bern. From 2019 to 2023 she was a Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow at the University of Amsterdam within art history and the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis. She is the author of Dematerialisation and the Social Materiality of Art: Experimental Forms in Argentina, 1955– 1968 (2021), which won the 2022 Best Book Award in Latin American Visual Culture Studies from the Latin American Studies Association (LASA). Her work is featured in Arts, Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture, Stedelijk Studies, Frieze, ArtNexus and E- tcetera.
