Duncan Faherty is Associate Professor of English & American Studies at Queens College and the Director of the Early Research Initiative at the Graduate Center. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Research Libraries of the NYPL. His current research focuses on 18th- and early 19th-century U.S. literature and culture, circum-Atlantic studies, and black Atlantic studies. He is also the co-director of the Just Teach One digital textual recovery project housed at the American Antiquarian Society: http://jto.common-place.org/ . He is author of Remodeling the Nation: The Architecture of American Identity, 1776-1958 and co-editor of the journal Studies in American Fiction. His work has also appeared in American Literature, American Quarterly, Early American Literature, Reviews in American History, and the Los Angles Review of Books. His current book project, tentatively titled Incipient Fevers: The Haitian Revolution & the Early Republic of Letters, explores the ways in which early American print culture represented and reanimated events connected to the Haitian Revolution.
