Debra Bergoffen is Emerita Professor of Philosophy at George Mason University and Bishop Hamilton Lecturer in Philosophy at American University. She is the author of The Philosophy of Simone de Beauvoir: Gendered Phenomenologies Erotic Generosities (1997) and Contesting the Politics of Genocidal Rape: Affirming the Dignity of the Vulnerable Body (2011). She is the co-editor of several anthologies including a special issue of Hypatia, Ethics of Embodiment (2011).
