Deborah Philip

Deborah Philip is a PhD Candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the Graduate Center, CUNY. She holds an M.Phil in Cultural Anthropology from the Graduate Center, and a B.A in History from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her current research concentrates on the Burgher minority, and how the politics of home, nationalism and creolization reframe questions of belonging in colonial and postcolonial Sri Lanka.
