David Meltzer

David Meltzer is an American poet and musician of the Beat Generation and San Francisco Renaissance. He is the author of more than 50 books, including No Eyes: Lester Young, David’s Copy: The Selected Poems of David Meltzer, and most recently, When I Was a Poet. One of the key poets of the Beat generation, he is also a jazz guitarist and has recorded several albums, including Poet with Jazz 1958.
