Cara Francis is a writer, performance artist, video artist and comedian. An ensemble member of The New York Neo-Futurists since 2008, she has written and performed in Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, The Soup Show (HERE Arts Center) and The Complete and Condensed Stage Directions of Eugene O'Neill, Volumes One and Two (Two Time Drama Desk Nominee for Unique Theatrical Experience, New York Times Critic’s Pick). She developed a site-specific immersive work, Stand, at the Brooklyn Museum with The Institute for Psychogeographic Adventure and helped develop a hybrid performance installation work, The Return, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Wooster Group alum Reid Farrington. Her interactive drone performance work has been exhibited at Trouw in Amsterdam, NE, at the New Museum in New York, NY as part of AUNTSisdance, as part of 'First Person View' at The Knockdown Center and in Contemporary Performance’s Special Effects Festival at The Wild Project. Cara's work has been written about in The Village Voice, The NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vice's MOTHERBOARD, Huffington Post, ARTFORUM and American Theater Magazine.
