Bisola Falola

Bisola Falola is a program officer with the Open Society Public Health Program, where she works on media and narratives to promote public health. Prior to joining Open Society, Falola was a program fellow and researcher at the University of Texas at Austin, where she worked on projects to create urban policies that combat health disparities, gentrification, and displacement. Her efforts focused on changing dominant narratives about sexual and racial violence in universities; and about how disinvestment and stigma affect children in marginalized neighborhoods. Falola's work also examined shifting perceptions of policies and among the public through collaboration with artists, activists, and civic groups, as well as through public writing and academic scholarship. She previously worked as a media producer and instructional designer with the Kennedy Center and Teach for America, as well as with museums, public schools, and artist collectives. Falola holds an EdM in education and technology from Harvard University, and a PhD in geography from the University of Texas at Austin.
