Ari Banias grew up in Los Angeles, El Paso, and the suburbs of Chicago. He is a recipient of various residencies and fellowships, including a 2011 NYFA Poetry fellowship and a 2011-2012 Writing Fellowship at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA. Recent or forthcoming work is in Subtropics, Sycamore Review, and Drunken Boat, among others. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
