Alva Noë is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at The Graduate Center, CUNY. Formally he taught at UC Berkeley as a member of the Institute for Cognitive and Brain Sciences and the Center for New Media. Professor Noë is the author of Out of Our Heads: Why You Are Not Your Brain and Other Lessons From The Biology of Consciousness (2009) and Action in Perception (2004).
