Alix Kates Shulman is the author of the feminist classic Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen and four other novels; three memoirs, including To Love What Is, the story of her husband's traumatic brain injury; and two books on the anarchist Emma Goldman. Her work has been translated into twelve languages, and her essays have appeared in the New York Times, Salon, The Nation, and The Guardian. She has two new books coming out this spring: the essay collection A Marriage Agreement and Other Essays: Four Decades of Feminist Writing and the novel Ménage.
