Alissa Quart is a poet, non-fiction writer and the executive editor of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, a non-profit devoted to reporting on inequality. Quart's first poetry book Monetized (Miami University Press) was published in 2015. Her non-fiction books include the forthcoming Squeezed (Ecco/HarperCollins), Republic of Outsiders, and Branded. Her poems have appeared in the London Review of Books, The Nation, NPR, Fence, Columbia Journalism Review, BillMoyers.com, The Offing, Feminist Studies, Poetry Society of America, The Awl and Open City, among other publications and she has been profiled for her poetry in The New Yorker, The Nation, The Writer Magazine and by a number of public radio shows.
