Aldon Lynn Nielsen is the Kelly Professor of American Literature at Penn State University and Visiting Professor of English at Central China Normal University. His most recent book of poetry is A Brand New Beggar, from Steerage Press. With Lauri Ramey he is the co-editor of What I Say: Innovative Poetry by Black Writers in America, forthcoming from the University of Alabama Press in April. His books of criticism include Integral Music, Black Chant, C.L.R. James: A Critical Introduction, Writing between the Lines and Reading Race. Earlier collections of poetry include Mantic Semantic, Mixage, VEXT, Stepping Razor, Evacuation Routes and Heat Strings.
