About the event
This panel brings together four important scholars of the study of race and racism in Puerto Rico. Anthropologists Isar Godreau and Hilda Llorens have written extensively on race and have led efforts to transform public education by understanding the intricacies of race and racialization in Puerto Rico. The discussant Carlos Vargas-Ramos is the editor of a forthcoming book by the Center for Puerto Rican Studies Press on the subject of race on the island.
