Join CLAGS: The Center for LGBTQ Studies in honoring José Esteban
Muñoz Awardee Alok Vaid-Menon.
Alok Vaid-Menon, this year’s José Muñoz Award honoree, is an internationally recognized author, poet, comedian, and public speaker who delves into trauma, belonging, and the human condition through their signature mixed-media artistry. A relentless advocate for LGBTQ rights, ALOK celebrates unbridled personal expression, dismantling traditional fashion norms and championing a culture of inclusivity and the celebration of unique identities. Join us for a conversation with ALOK and presentation of the Muñoz Award, which honors an LGBTQ community leader or activist for their advocacy for queer and transgender communities and LGBTQ communities of color. Previous Muñoz awardees include Janet Mock, Jose Antonio Vargas, and Patrisse Cullors.
